At Partners HealthCare, we know that health begins at the very start of our patients’ lives; the first few months are crucial. Recognizing this, Partners employees have joined together for the past four years to provide baby baskets to new families. Throughout the Partners system, employees donate items that new parents need — including diapers, wipes, clothing, toys, books, bottles and more.
Partners Human Resources and Partners Community Health then work together to ensure these are delivered safely to area community health centers, where both patients and staff deeply appreciate the effort.
“We are so excited to be able to provide these wonderful newborn baskets to our patients. I recently saw our first recipients, and they were so appreciative of the basket. They said it had everything that they needed, and it was such a great help during this exciting and stressful time of having a newborn,” said Robyn Riseberg, MD, Chief of Pediatrics, South End Community Health Center.
This year, 70 baskets were compiled and delivered to 8 community health centers, including South End Community Health Center, Lynn Community Health Center, MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center, Upham’s Corner Health Center, Mattapan Community Health Center, Brookside Community Health Center and MGH Charlestown HealthCare Center. Thank you to all of our employees for the generous donations, and congratulations to all of the new families!
