Better Care for an Island Community

Nantucket Cottage Hospital (NCH) recently opened the doors to a new state-of-the-art facility that sets a high standard for patient care on the island while solidifying the hospital’s enduring role in the community. The new LEED Gold v4 certified building is able to withstand hurricane winds exceeding 185 miles per hour, which meets specifications established by Miami Dade County. This strengthened infrastructure builds on the NCH promise to continue serving the community through environmental and seasonal challenges inherent to an island hospital. NCH’s 106,000 square-foot facility sets a new national bar for small community hospitals, providing a centralized resource for both Nantucket visitors’ and residents’ health care needs supported by resilient and environmentally-conscious architecture.
